Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha
Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha is a Bengali Association in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha was brought into existence by the employees of South Central Railway, Secunderabad, between 1965-1966. It was registered as a society in the year 1972. It grew to be one of the largest associations of the Bengali linguistic community in south India. Activities of the Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha include celebrations of Sarvojanin Durgotsav (Durga Puja), Lakshmi Puja, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Bengali New Year's Day, Rabindra Jayanti, Independence Day, Republic Day, and the Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose - all of which are celebrated every year.
The main activities of BSS is the celebration of the Hindu religious festivals that are of special importance to Bengal. The Association also provides a socio-cultural platform to the community which aids in fostering closer ties between its members, enables us to tap the wealth of cultural talent within the community, and also promote artistes from back home by inviting them over, all of which help to make our lives here richer, happier and more fulfilling. We are also involved in community service which include blood donation camps, nurturing and promoting local artistic talent of children, etc among other things.The main body is supported by two auxiliary wings, The Ladies Wing and the Youth wing. The Youth Auxiliary Wing came into existence in the year 2005. The main aim of the Youth Auxiliary Wing (YaW) is to encourage the young members of the club in participating and helping in organizing different events under the aegis of the Association. It also helps the youngsters learn how to take up responsibilities and also work in a team. The Association has a well stocked library of Bengali books and some English books. A House Bulletin is published quarterly for information updates and private circulation called “Srishti”.Team
